In November, Vale and GE signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement to establish joint projects related to the development of infrastructure in Brazil. The main focus of these projects will be the storage, generation and distribution of energy.
The agreement was signed at the launch ceremony for GE’s fifth global multidisciplinary research and development center, to be built in Rio de Janeiro.
“The choice of Brazil to host GE’s fifth Global Research Center opens up possibilities for very important partnerships, such as this one with Vale, in which we will be able to share knowledge in different research areas, such as the reuse of water and energy efficiency,” explained Rafael Santana, President and CEO of GE Energy for Latin America.
“This partnership is essential to our development of technologies and solutions to enable the sustainable production of energy,” said the Director of the Vale Technology Institute, Luiz Mello.
