Company is one of the biggest in Brazil

Vale stood out in the Global 500 ranking recently produced by US magazine Fortune and the Melhores e Maiores (“Best and Biggest”) edition of Brazilian magazine Exame, which analyzed companies’ results in 2010.

According to Fortune, Vale achieved the fourth fastest growth in revenue among all 500 members of the global ranking. It was also rated the fourth biggest Brazilian company.

Exame, meanwhile, listed Vale as the country’s third largest company, as well as the first in sales (excluding state-owned companies) and the top exporter last year. The Vale Group – including subsidiaries and affiliates – was rated the biggest in Brazil.
