Inaugurated in June at the Vale Botanical Park in Vitória, the capital of the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo, the “Trail of the Senses” encourages visitors to explore their senses and get in contact with nature through the smells, sounds and textures of the forest.
The Trail of the Senses was designed as a way of stimulating social inclusion for people with disabilities, whether visual, auditory, physical, mental, cognitive, motor or balance-related. The result is a unique and stimulating walk both for people with disabilities and for anyone simply looking for a different way of interacting with nature and enjoying a moment of relaxation.
Interactive walk
The walk extends for 460 meters and lasts 45 minutes on average. Trees with different surface textures, typical smells and sounds of the forest, and fruits carefully positioned along the trail facilitate interaction with different elements of nature. Signs in Braille show interesting facts about the Atlantic Forest.
