The Vale-Sebrae Supplier Development Program, an agreement between Vale and Sebrae, aims to increase participation by micro and small companies in the mining production chain. Implemented through Inove, the program was created in December 2010 and has R$14.4 million of resources. Its aim is to diagnose companies’ development needs and carry out capacity building initiatives.
An initial study was conducted of 1,000 micro and small companies in different regions where Vale operates, and that already supply or may supply Vale. By the time the agreement ends in December 2013, these companies will have been prepared and monitored to best meet the needs of a growing and ever more demanding market.
Brazilian states covered by the agreement:
- Rio de Janeiro
- Minas Gerais
- Espírito Santo
- Sergipe
- Bahia
- Maranhão
