2010 edition held in Australia

In line with its commitment to sustainable development, Vale took part in the 25th International Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC 2010), held in mid September in Australia. Against a backdrop of global economic change, our company has guaranteed that it will further increase its investment in technological research.

The meeting attracted more than 800 delegates, who discussed key issues in mineral processing such as energy, water and the environment. Participants also talked about topical themes, such as climate change, sustainable mining, recycling and eco-efficiency.

Academia, industry and research

The IMPC is well known for providing important opportunities to bring together academia, industry and research institutions. In order to encourage young people to join the industry, the congress also featured a three-day exhibition on mineral processing and a Students’ Day. The next edition of the event, which is held every two years, is scheduled to take place in 2012, in New Delhi, India.
