Vale has 12 private nature reserves in the Iron Quadrangle region of Minas Gerais, Brazil, protecting a total of over 7,000 hectares.
The reserves help to conserve the state’s flora and fauna, protecting remnants of Atlantic Forest and Cerrado (Brazilian savanna) ecosystems. They are staffed by professionals who carry out scientific research and initiatives to protect native habitat.
