Social and Environmental Management

In order to identify the effects of our presence on the locations where we operate and maximize our positive legacy, we manage the social and environmental impacts of our activities, starting with the implementation of our projects.

These factors are considered in environmental, social and economic studies carried out as part of “EIA/Rima” Environmental Impact Studies, beginning with the project licensing and implementation phases.

Our monitoring activities follow the Front-End Loading (FEL) methodology, which covers social, health, safety and environmental issues, as well as economic and operational risks. These studies are conducted in conjunction with socioeconomic forecasts at local and regional levels made by the Vale Foundation.
